Your Chamber Mobile Application will be a traditional full featured application with four main sections as indicated below. They will be titled "Home", "Local", "Learn" and "Connect" functioning properly on iPhones and Android powered smart phones. These two account for the majority of smart phone users today.

We will not support Blackberry, Windows Phone 7 or Nokia at the moment. We are certainly open to this in the future.

Why Now?

Since Chamber Nation formally launched its services in 2006, we've been on a mission to create the first of its kind Chamber Broadcasting system.

Our objectives are to provide Chamber of Commerce executives the tools they need to be sure that their entire community is online.

This is even more critical than ever, because entire communities must be online to compete.

The majority of information that is viewed online is being done through mobile devices now.

Since Chambers of Commerce are in the business of publishing in print and online, it is important to climb on the mobile bandwagon.

We can provide this service very inexpensively.

To keep our costs in check, the application will be delivered as presented with limited customization. But we think we've struck a really attractive balance.

Fortunately all of the dynamic data will be feeding directly from your back office for instant automatic app updates. No manual loading!!

When we are done with your app development it should be fully functional and easily downloaded from iTunes and the Android marketplaces.

We think your members will be impressed too! They can directly control the content in your app by simply making changes within the TCS center. We can't wait to show this off in future member classes.

Speaking of members... we are also working on a program called www.MembershipUpgrade.com that you will have the option of implementing at your Chamber. It will bring a valuable extension to this app for each member. It's also a revenue producer and will add another value to being a member.

Artwork Creation

We will be building TWO applications for you. One will be submitted to Apple® for their approval and the other to Google®. In both cases artwork must be created for your applications.

We will be using Juliet Beer, professional graphics artist and owner of Julz Graphics. She created our ChamberMe® app artwork and our brand new HelpNetwork.Me logo.

Welcome Screen* - Custom introduction to your community with suggestions on getting the most from the visit. Invitation to join the Chamber might also be offered on this page.

Directory Screen - App users can search for members by key words, name and category.

The content displayed will come directly from the Chamber Nation system. This allows the staff, volunteers and even the members to update the app by simply updating the information within the TCS center.

Event Screen - This will present the master calendar for your Chamber.

If you have activated the Member Calendar Network, it will also include the member events you have approved.

Search Works

App Store Quick Reference:
Assigning Keywords For Your App Version 1.0

Introduction

Customers who use "search" to find applications on the App Store will see results based on your designated keywords.

This replaces the former search functionality which used words found in your application’s description.

Once you have entered keywords, your application will only be searchable on the App Store by your designated keywords, your company name, and your application name.

Your application description is now for marketing purposes only and should be used to describe the functionality and details of your application.

We encourage you to submit keywords for all applications as soon as possible so that they will continue to be successfully located on the App Store.
Considerations When Assigning Keywords For Your Application

When entering keywords for your application, it is important you keep the following in mind:

  • Keywords can be single words or phrases and the text field is limited to 100 characters. Separate multiple keywords with commas for best results.
  • Keywords cannot contain offensive or objectionable words/phrases.
  • You do not need to include your App Name & Company/Artist Name in your list of keywords as they are already searchable.
  • Do not include keywords of other applications or use terms, product names, brand names, or entities that are registered trademarks unless you own the rights.
  • Using keywords that are specific to your app enhances the user experience, so when a customer searches for “spreadsheet” the results returned do not contain tip calculator, sudoku, etc.
  • You are permitted to assign a keyword that also appears in your application description as long as it represents an aspect of your application. For example, if you enter your official keywords as "motorcycle, racing, fast" for your app in iTunes Connect in the Keywords text field and save this information, your search will not be negatively affected if your application description still says "Driving your motorcycle fast with this racing app is exhilarating!" The application would be searchable by "motorcycle", "racing", "fast", your company name and the application name.
  • All keyword submissions with a new binary will be reviewed by Apple. If you misuse keywords, your app may be rejected and you will be asked to edit your keywords before you can resubmit your app for review.
  • Be sure that you enter accurate keywords for your initial submission, because keywords can only be edited when submitting an application update or if your application is in the “Rejected” or “Developer Rejected”” state
Getting the Most Out of Your Keywords

Entering thoughtful and strategic keywords that pertain to your application will help
customers locate your application easier when searching on the App Store. Consider
keywords that are specific to the functionality of your application or that describe its unique characteristics.

If you choose unique keywords, your app could have a better chance of being
found. Assigning extremely common keywords could lessen your chance of being
located quickly.

Examples of keyword considerations for the game application “Touch Fighter”:

  • Overly common keywords make it harder to locate your app: Game, App, Fun
  • Unique keywords allow your app to stand out: Flight, Galaxy, Starship

Area Map Screen - Using a mapping service we will configure the mobile app to display the region your Chamber of Commerce serves.

Area Photos Screen* - Really nice module that displays a grid of photos of your community.

Users are able to view the whole grid of photos, click a photo to explode view, then swipe left or right to view all photos. Certain photos in this grid will actually become the button indicator on many of the selection screens throughout the app.

Press Releases Screen - We use the information fed by members and staff into the press release module to power this view. Only approved items are presented and will auto expire not only from your website, but also through this app. This is a great way for the local media and bloggers to keep up-to-date on important local content for your area.

Chamber Update Screen - Using the news manager within the back office, you will be able to generate news stories for your website and your mobile app all at the same time. Make the headlines catchy and watch your app stats go up.

Buy Local Program© Screen - Showcase products and services within your community.

Chamber Daily Deals© - App users are able to signup for email notifications of newly posted deals from members.

Notifications go out a maximum of once per day and must be approved first by Chamber staff before they are broadcasted.

This is a terrific way to show the world your commerce!

Connect Tab

Join the Chamber Screen - Facilitates easy connection to your "Join the Chamber" page or a simple contact form that can be quickly filled out, so that you can increase membership.

Video Screen* - We work with you to create a simple introduction to your Chamber using your webcam. Send us your file and we'll host on YouTube® and integrate into this app.

Contact Screen - "Contact us" form with the Chambers contact information that is clickable for easy dialing or emailing.

Facebook Screen* - Here is where you can expand your Facebook network from within the app.

Directory Activity - This shows visitors current activity within the networked directories. This helps confirm the value of Chamber of Commerce membership.

Here's What We will Need:

* Indicates an area that will be customized with your content. This falls outside of the automated updates coming into the app from the back office.

Each app will be customized with your logo and a matching color scheme.
  • High quality digital file of your logo
  • A list of all words people would likely search for through iTunes and Google Marketplaces to find your application to download.
  • An app description in the marketplaces you feel will attract mobile app downloads.
  • Well written welcome screen text.
  • Approximately 30 really attractive photos of your area and possibly some event photos.
  • A one-minute (approx.) webcam video of you introducing the viewer to the area that will run within the app.
  • We will need an optional link to the Facebook Chamber page you would like incorporated into the app.
  • You may also supply an optional Twitter link for app.
